The Content is protected by copyright and other applicable intellectual property laws. Original logos, graphics, and visual elements created for this Site are protected to the extent provided by applicable law. The name Dark Psychology Lab may not be used together with our Site content, logo, domain, or other identifying elements in a misleading way that falsely suggests that another website, channel, product, or service is operated by, affiliated with, or endorsed by this Site.

When using this Site, you agree that you will not:

  • use the Site for any unlawful, abusive, fraudulent, or harmful purpose;
  • harass, threaten, intimidate, or abuse other visitors or the Site owner;

  • use automated systems in a manner that places unreasonable demands on the Site.

We may moderate submissions and block, restrict, or remove access where we reasonably believe these Terms have been violated or the security of the Site is at risk.

7. Stories, Comments, and Case Studies

Some of our content discusses patterns of manipulation, narcissism, or workplace abuse through examples and case studies drawn from the author’s own experience, from reader submissions, or from general research. Terminology such as narcissist, covert, overt, Machiavellian, or other dark triad and related personality descriptions describes a behavior pattern for analytical purposes, not a clinical diagnosis of anyone. See our Disclaimer for more on how this content is built and framed.

If you send us a story, comment, or example:

  • We do not publish, adapt, or use private submissions in articles, case studies, testimonials, or other public content, including in anonymized or composite form, without your separate, explicit permission.
  • If permission is given, identifying details such as names, employers, locations, dates, roles, and other contextual information are removed, changed, generalized, or combined to reduce the risk of identification.
  • Examples and case studies may be based on the author’s own experiences, reader submissions used with separate explicit permission, observed behavior, or composite analysis. Identifying details, including names, employers, locations, dates, roles, and other contextual information, are removed, changed, generalized, or combined to reduce the risk of identification. The analysis presents an educational interpretation of reported or observed behavior. It is not a judicial finding, an official investigation, an employment determination, or a clinical diagnosis of any identifiable person.
  • We do not independently investigate or verify the accuracy of stories submitted by readers, and we are not liable for inaccuracies in material someone else sent us.
  • Comments may be reviewed, edited, moderated, or removed at our discretion, including to protect the privacy of people mentioned in them.

8. Third-Party Links and Services

The Site may contain links to external websites, research sources, embedded content, videos, tools, or services provided by third parties.

Dark Psychology Lab does not control and is not responsible for:

  • the content or accuracy of external websites;
  • their privacy, cookie, security, or business practices;
  • changes made to third-party content;
  • losses or damage caused by accessing or using external services.

A link to an external resource does not necessarily mean that Dark Psychology Lab endorses the website, organization, author, product, or service.

You access and use third-party websites at your own discretion. Review their own terms, privacy policies, and security practices before submitting information or making decisions based on their content.

9. No Guarantees and Disclaimer of Warranties

The Site and its Content are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.

While we aim to publish thoughtful, useful, and carefully researched information, we do not guarantee that:

  • all Content is complete, accurate, error-free, or current;
  • every source or external link remains available or unchanged;
  • the Site will operate continuously or without technical problems;
  • the Content will be appropriate for every individual situation;
  • reading or applying information from the Site will produce a particular result;
  • another person will respond to a strategy in a particular way.

Psychological, workplace, legal, and relationship situations vary. Power imbalances, personal circumstances, local laws, safety risks, and other factors may change what is appropriate.

You are responsible for evaluating how the information relates to your own situation and for obtaining professional assistance where needed.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Dark Psychology Lab and its owner will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or similar losses arising from:

  • access to or use of the Site;

  • reliance on or interpretation of the Content;
  • actions taken based on information published on the Site;
  • third-party websites, services, or embedded content;
  • unauthorized access, technical failures, malware, data loss, or service interruptions beyond our reasonable control.

This may include loss of data, income, business opportunity, reputation, or other consequential harm.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or restricted. Any mandatory consumer rights available under applicable law remain unaffected.

11. Responsibility for Misuse

To the extent permitted by law, you are responsible for losses, claims, or reasonable costs resulting from:

  • your unlawful or abusive use of the Site;
  • Content or information you submit;
  • your violation of these Terms;
  • your infringement of another person’s privacy, intellectual property, or other legal rights;
  • attempts to compromise the security or operation of the Site.

This section does not create liability where such liability cannot legally be imposed under applicable consumer or other mandatory law.

These Terms and any dispute arising from or relating to the Site are governed by the laws of the Republic of Lithuania and applicable European Union law.

Subject to any mandatory rights available under applicable law, the competent courts of the Republic of Lithuania shall have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or the use of the Site.

If you are a consumer, this section does not deprive you of any mandatory protection provided by the laws of your country of habitual residence or any right to bring proceedings before another court that has jurisdiction under applicable consumer protection law.

Before initiating a formal dispute, we encourage you to contact us at info@darkpsychologylab.com so that we can attempt to resolve the issue informally.

Nothing in this section prevents either party from seeking urgent legal protection or using any complaint, regulatory, or dispute-resolution procedure available under applicable law.

14. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, that provision will be limited or removed only to the extent necessary.

The remaining provisions will continue to apply where legally possible.

15. Entire Agreement

These Terms form the agreement governing general use of the Site.

Separate terms, notices, consent forms, or agreements may apply to future services, paid analyses, digital products, research submissions, subscriptions, or other features. Where separate terms apply, they will govern that specific service or transaction.

The Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy are separate notices explaining data and cookie practices.

16. Changes to the Site and These Terms

We may update, add, remove, or reorganize Site content and features.

We may also update these Terms when the Site, our services, or applicable requirements change. The date at the top of this page indicates the current version.
